RESIDENTIAL MECHANICAL SERVICES

Heating, Plumbing and Ventilation — designed and installed properly

From a new radiator system in a full renovation to a bathroom fit-out or a whole-house ventilation upgrade, we provide complete mechanical services for residential new builds and retrofits across Munster.

OUR SERVICES

What We Cover.

Heating Systems

Design and installation of wet heating systems for new builds and retrofits — radiators, underfloor heating, or a combination of both. We size systems correctly from first principles so your home heats efficiently and evenly.

We offer a full range of residential mechanical services, handling design, supply and installation across three core areas. Whether you're building new or upgrading an existing home, we install Heating, Plumbing & Ventilation systems, all in accordance with the latest regulations.

Radiator systems

Supply and installation of panel radiator systems, including pipework design, emitter sizing to EN 12831, balancing, and commissioning. Suitable for both new installations and replacement of existing systems.

Underfloor heating

Wet underfloor heating systems for ground floors and upper floors — screed-embedded or low-profile overlay systems depending on floor construction. Zoned control and manifold installation included.

Combined systems

Many homes benefit from underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs. We design hybrid layouts that balance performance, cost and ease of installation

Heat pump compatibility

All heating system designs account for compatibility with heat pumps — whether a heat pump is being installed now or planned for the future. Low-temperature design is central to what we specify.

Plumbing - Kitchens & Bathrooms

Full plumbing installation for kitchens and bathrooms in new builds and renovation projects. Hot and cold water distribution, waste pipework, and connections to all appliances and fittings.

Kitchen plumbing

Hot and cold supply to sinks, dishwashers and washing machines. Waste connections and trap installation. We work to builder's drawings or help specify routes in renovation projects.

Bathroom plumbing

Complete bathroom plumbing including bath, shower, basin and WC connections. Hot and cold supplies, waste runs, and soil pipework routed to existing or new drainage. Installation of Sanitary Ware, Showers, Trays & Enclosures, Taps etc.

Hot water systems

Cylinder and unvented hot water system installation, including immersion heaters, solar coil connections, and heat pump cylinder connections where applicable.

Cold water distribution

Mains cold water distribution from incoming supply, including isolation valves, pressure regulation, and manifold systems for multi-bathroom homes.

Ventilation Systems

Design and installation of mechanical ventilation systems for homes where background ventilation alone is insufficient — particularly relevant in well-insulated or airtight new builds and deep retrofits.

Heat recovery ventilation (MVHR)

Whole-house mechanical ventilation with heat recovery — continuous fresh air supply and stale air extraction, recovering up to 90% of heat from outgoing air. Required in high-performance new builds and recommended in deep retrofits where airtightness is improved significantly.

Extract ventilation (MEV)

Mechanical extract ventilation for kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms — continuous low-level extraction supplemented by boost modes when needed. A practical, lower-cost solution for homes where whole-house MVHR is not warranted.

Ductwork design and installation

Rigid and semi-rigid ductwork installation, including distribution from central unit to all supply and extract points. We design duct routes to minimise pressure drop and noise, and commission systems to design flow rates.

Ventilation and airtightness

In homes being retrofitted for heat pump installation or energy upgrades, we advise on the interaction between improved airtightness and ventilation requirements — ensuring indoor air quality is maintained as the building envelope tightens.

01 - Initial consultation and scope review

We discuss the project — new build or renovation, scale, timelines, and any specific requirements. For larger jobs we review drawings and specifications before quoting.

Whether it's a straightforward bathroom installation or a full mechanical package for a new build, we follow the same structured process on every job.

Our Approach on every Project.

HOW WE WORK

02 - Design & Specification

Where design input is required — heating system sizing, duct layouts, pipework routes — we produce the necessary calculations and drawings before work commences.

03 - Written Quotation

We provide a clear written quotation covering scope, materials, labour and VAT. No surprises on the invoice.

04 - Installation

We carry out the installation to specification and to the relevant Irish standards, co-ordinating with other trades on site as required.

05 - Commissioning & Handover

All systems are commissioned, tested and balanced before handover. We walk you through operation, controls and maintenance requirements on completion.

Engineering-led Mechanical Services

WHY MORNING STAR PROJECTS?

Designed to standard, not guesswork

Heating systems are sized using EN 12831 heat loss calculations. Ventilation systems are designed to TGD F flow rates. We don't estimate — we calculate.

We bring 20+ years of mechanical engineering experience to residential projects of every scale — from a single bathroom to a full new build package.

Low-temperature and heat-pump-ready design

All heating systems we install are designed with future heat pump compatibility in mind — even where a heat pump isn't being fitted immediately.

Full mechanical package under one contractor

Heating, plumbing, sanitary ware and ventilation all handled by one team — less co-ordination, fewer interfaces, and a single point of accountability.

Clear written quotations

Every job starts with a written scope and quotation. We agree what's included before we start — and stick to it.

Munster-based, locally available

Based in Co. Limerick — no long lead times waiting on contractors from outside the region. We're available to attend site promptly and keep projects moving.

20+ years of mechanical engineering

Residential mechanical services delivered by engineers with deep HVAC and building services experience — not just trade background.
